The MABE department is highly research-active and its faculty are at the forefront of their research fields, as can be seen by clicking on the publication records in the Academic Staff pages and the articles in Staff in the News.
Departmental research covers the full spectrum from blue-sky, fundamental research through to new start-up companies. For more details see the websites of the following Centres/Institutes.
All Science and Engineering Ph.D.s are now Structured Ph.D.s, involving a programme of technical courses, general research skills courses and research leading to a thesis. MABE places a very strong emphasis on producing journal publications from all Ph.D. work, which is extremely beneficial for the graduate's career.
To apply to become a masters/Ph.D. student, see the postgraduate research application form here. This form must be mailed to the address on the form.
You can also directly contact academic staff to ask questions, if you are interested in their area of research.
